For the sake of experimenting with different social media platforms, Iâve been reading excerpts from â365 Ways to Be More Stoicâ on TikTok. I recently decided, however, to read an excerpt from a new book Iâm coauthoring with CBT practitioners Scott Waltman and Trent Codd (TBR Winter 2023).
There were two sections I was going back-and-forth between: one about guilt and the other about resilience. After conducting a Twitter poll, asking which subject people would rather hear about, resilience won. I was a bit surprised because I thought perhaps people had grown tired of hearing about resilience in Stoicism and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Turns out, I may have been wrong. So, here is my reading of âWhat is Resilienceâ from our upcoming book, âThe Stoicism Workbookâ.

Resilience is an essential Stoic value. Many people are attracted by the promise of Stoicism to provide relief and equanimity in the face of difficult circumstances. Great video, thank you for sharing Kasey!
